Teen’s parents: After suicide, he’s still being bullied
Tue Sep 27, 2011
@RAJ PATEL The proper way is to take these families to court (if needed). In fact, your solution could ignite retaliation from those that "demand justice."

@Joe Veteran You misrepresented my point entirely. I never said that teacher's shouldn't be proactive when it comes to protecting the students. I've told students hundreds of times to not pick on each other. But it's entirely hard to tell on who started what, hence my "he said/he said" comment.

Aslinn, as a sub teacher, I sometimes get scared too (I'll admit that), but you have to do your job. Teachers are the first and last line of defense for the classrooms. If they can't control, who can?

I wish that were the solution, but as a teacher, the fighting is going to end up being a he said/she said or he said/he said, so on and so forth. Besides, some parents are actually gonna side with the bullies by saying that the victim is the one that provoked it. Sad, really.

My heart goes out to this family, but I'm not sure that anti-bullying legislation is the solution. The term "bully" is so vague that almost any action that kids do could automatically be perceived as such.

Mr. Orde, if you're referring to the "area in America" as in Los Angeles, we have 250 gangs not 400. It has also come to my attention that your city has 190 gangs. You might wanna lay low on the criticism

The largest riot I can remember was the Rodney King Riot; only 53 people were killed. You may not like the way the US does things, but don't exaggerate on the statistics.
